Welcome to the Withering Forest, where the fog not only clouds the landscape but slowly creeps into your mind. The spell was cast long ago, as protection against unwelcome guests and those that would do the coven harm and it's only gotten stronger over the years. It's grown a mind of it's own, reaching out to cover more and more of the surrounding lands and swallowing everything in it's wake. New trees pop up seemingly overnight, animals run from it on sight and whole villages disappear into the fog never to be seen or heard from again.
It's said that the High Priestess of the Coven controls it, her power feeding into it and it, in return, feeding into her power, granting her near godlike abilities. She can slip through the forest at will, weaving through the branches at incredible speeds... snatching up anything or anyone who dares to trespass into her lands. Sometimes she drops them off at the edge of the forest, and others... aren't so lucky.
